We are about set for the New Mexico Lobos (2-1) vs. New Mexico State (2-1) in a near sell out at University Stadium in Albuquerque. After a 24 yard pass play to start the game, a couple of sacks leads to a punt. Lobos will take over at their 6. Nothing doing for the Lobos on this drive. Took a shot down field on first down, a 6 yard rush, and nothing doing on 3rd down. Punt will have NMSU with the ball at the Lobos 49 yard line.

3rd and 6 for NMSU. Great PBU by Coleman to stop the drive for NMSU. Lobos muff the punt and NMSU takes advantage and will have the ball at the +19.

Nothing doing for the Lobos on that drive. They will have to punt. It bounces inside the 10. NMSU will start their drive at the 7.

NMSU with a 20-yard pass play. Lobos are still getting to Fife and causing some problems in the backfield. Need a turnover at some point. Eck with a massive sack on 3rd and 5 to force a punt by NMSU.

Lobos will have just over 1 minutes with the drive starting at the 20. Great job by Layne to get out of the pocket and find his receiver for a first down. Unsure about going for it here on 4th and 1. NMSU gets the stop and NMSU will have the ball at +41.

First Half Take aways. Lobos did well to get pressure on Fife and force NMSU into difficult spots, but lost in the big plays. Scoop and score was the biggest play of the first half. Interesting 30 minutes coming up at University Stadium.

The kickoff goes into the end zone. Lobos will start their first drive of the 3Q at their 25. Big pass play to start the half for the Lobos. Drop pass leads to a 4th and 8, the Lobos go for it and are given the first down on a DPI by NMSU. Lobos tie it up at 17-17 with a 44-yard Drzewiecki FG.

Lobos get NMSU to a 3rd and 9, but the NMSU line is able to hold off the pressure and complete a big pass play for the first down. Lobos force a 3rd and 4, which ends up with an incomplete pass, leading to a 4th and 4 where the Lobos are able to stop Fife shy of the first down. Lobos will take over at their own 40.
